Koramangala Buzz
Folks, for those of you who live or work in and around Koramangala, Bangalore and read my blogs, here's something to do during lunch breaks. There is an old beggar who sits outside the post office on 12th main right next to HOPCOMS(BDA complex road). He's lame and infirm so he can barely move around - please do drop off food parcels to him whenever you can. He's always at the same place everyday, right outside the post office gate. And while you're at it, please have a chat with him ... he loves to talk :). Hope to meet some of you there!

Oh! This is marvellous.. I think it's really amazing of you to put this up. I hope it actually inspires people to do something..
My dad often did this very spontaneously. He would stop the car if he saw someone infirm or old by the road, chat them up either give them money or sometimes even buy them food.. He always had old (but in good condition) shirts that he no longer used in a bag in the boot that he would give to someone if he saw that they could use it. Although I was embarrassed by this as a kid ('why does my dad have to talk to beggars' )
Real empathy so hard to come by these days that it's so refreshing to read something like this.. something that's concrete, that suggests what one might actually DO!
May your tribe increase!
you are one inspiring lady...this was the first thing i read this morning and you really made my day...
will spread the word around...
So what if I dont live in Koramangala....i'll do this each time I visit that area....
This is such a lovely thing you are doing Madhu...

Madhu!!!! come over to my blog...something for you...
Came across your blog by accident when I was searching on google images for 'nalukettu'. Interesting reading.
Don't go give money or food to just anyone without doing your homework. In Kochi, outside one of the hotels (is it Grand ?) I saw a man sitting on the kerb, obviously handicapped (both legs). I gave him some coins and turned to walk away. He called me back and returned the money. That's when I noticed - he was selling lottery tickets for a living. He didn't want my charity. I have been ashamed ever since that I left without buying a lottery ticket from him - has been in my mind for the past 2 or 3 years now. Whenever I go back to Cochin, plan to go and busy some tickets from him. ashvinkum@gmail.com
